On April 18th, the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan received a farewell visit from H.E. Mr. Cheng Yonghua, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Tokyo, on the occasion of the conclusion of his term in Japan. A discussion was held with the party officials of CDP - Leader Yukio Edano, Supreme Advisor Banri Kaieda, Secretary-General Tetsuro Fukuyama, member of the House of Representatives Shoichi Kondo and Akiko Kamei, Director-General of the International Bureau.

Looking back on various events during his nine-year period as Ambassador such as the Great East Japan Earthquake, the parties confirmed the significance of mutual understanding between China and Japan, as well as interparty exchanges between the Chinese Communist Party and the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan.
